We had the pleasure of staying at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood resort, near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for my 40th birthday. From the minute we booked the hotel, I experienced their wonderful and attentive service that the Rosewood hotels are so well known for. The retreat was one we will never forget.
As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted with a welcome drink, a tasty and unique margarita, and a birthday cake with sparklers! What a great way to kick off a birthday trip.
Tip: If traveling for a special occasion, I will let the hotel know in advance so they can prepare special surprises.
Accommodations:
From the moment you step into your room at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, you are greeted by a harmonious blend of sophistication and comfort. The rooms are meticulously designed, offering a tasteful combination of contemporary elegance and Mexican charm.

During certain times of the year, lucky guests may even witness the majestic spectacle of whale watching right from the comfort of their own balcony. It's an experience that adds a touch of magic to an already enchanting stay.
For a taste of Mexican culture, indulge in a unique tequila tasting experience within the comfort of your own room. We spent the week sampling the different accompaniments that came with our own bottle of Tequila.
Adding an extra layer of exclusivity, some rooms at Las Ventanas al Paraíso feature an upstairs deck, providing an even more private space to unwind and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
Tip: Get your breakfast delivered to the suite every morning, they will set it up on the balcony for you to enjoy a private meal together and take in the view!
We were lucky to have the upstairs balcony and decided to partake in the Sleep under the Stars experience which included a romantic setup with rose petals, champagne, an actual queen sized bed set up on the roof of our deck and a telescope. The area around Cabo is a Dark Skies Area allowing for incredible star gazing, so this is an incredibly unique experience you won’t find elsewhere.
Refreshing Pools:
For those that do not already know, most resorts in the Cabo area do not allow swimming in the ocean because of dangerous rip ties. As a note, there are a few resorts where you have some beach area where you can swim. However, the Rosewood resort boasts a series of stunning pools, each a shimmering oasis of tranquility. Whether you prefer a refreshing swim or simply lounging by the water's edge, the pools at Las Ventanas al Paraíso offer a blissful retreat. There are also many included tasty treats such as popsicles which are brought by the pool throughout the day. Forgot your sunscreen? Don’t worry, the Rosewood has just about everything you might need.
Dining and Entertainment:
Dining at Las Ventanas al Paraíso is a culinary journey that caters to the most discerning palates. The resort is home to a selection of world-class restaurants, each offering a unique gastronomic experience. We started our trip at their signature sushi restaurant which overlooks the ocean from the top of the resort. You definitely cannot miss the Arbol restaurant during your stay. This restaurant is unique to Las Ventanas and serves delicious indian, asian and raw bar cuisine.
After dinner, don’t forget to venture over to the on premise Speakeasy! Tucked away within the resort, this secret enclave pays homage to the clandestine bars of the Prohibition era. As you enter through a discreet entrance, a sense of exclusivity envelops you, accentuated by dim lighting and a sultry ambiance. The carefully curated cocktail menu boasts a selection of handcrafted concoctions, skillfully prepared by expert mixologists. Enjoy live music and a show as the bar and alcohol are hidden every time a new guest enters.

We were connected to our personal concierge via What’s App so we could message anytime we needed something during our stay. Every day we were greeted by a new sweet treat in our room and other surprises as well.
The resort's concierge service goes above and beyond to curate special outings, ensuring that your stay extends beyond the confines of the resort. Whether it's a scenic tour or a thrilling adventure, Las Ventanas al Paraíso ensures that every moment is unforgettable. Our partners’ surprised us with a half day outing on a private boat to cruise the coastline and swim in the ocean. We also booked a cooking class at Flora Farms, where we learned to make tamales, which was a wonderful and tasty experience.
